New reg?
Can someone shed some light on the whole new reg issue for me please?
I understand the one professionally reconditioned item concession but does this mean that if your engine has been reconditioned you would have to try
and source new running gear such as diff, shafts, bearing carriers etc?
I know that some of you have got new registration numbers so what reconditioned part(s) did you use?
Thanks in advance

The rule says... All major components except one which can be "reconditioned AS NEW".
You use form V55/4 to apply and the form to list components, thier manufacturer and the reciepts comes with it. Chassis, steering, axles (hubs),
engine, transmission (diff and prop shaft listed on my BEC build) are listed on the form (can't remember the form number). You'll also
have to sign a "Declaration of newness" form to say its new (again can't remember the form No).
I have reciepts for them all being new except the engine and I've one for that being recon'ed as new. DVLA also asked me to sign a
declaration of newness. I also made sure she saw the file of bills when they did the inspection but she wasn't inclined to wade through it! Gave
me an 08.
I'll look up the form numbers tommorow.

As Adi says.
Some people have created their own reciepts for parts that they have "lost" the paperwork for. Not me though
Phone the DVLA and they will send you a pack of forms and instruction books. Everything needed for a new plate

Declaration of newness is form V267 (not in the registration pack). I can't find the other one but it is in the pack with V55/4.
