Ignition feed or live feed?

Do side lights or heads have to wired in to work with the ignition off for SVA?

I have just wired in the hazards this way as I know this is a requirement.

The way I read it, only the sides have to opperate with the ignition off

If you can keep you head, whilst all others around you are losing theirs, you are not fully aware of the situation

I think they need to work when the ignition is off so you can leave the lights on by accident and flatten the battery, also you will need to be able to put the side lights on if you park it at night and need to make others aware of it's position.
I think the first point is just a bonus from having to do the second

maybe worth having a separate switch for parking lights, then you cant leave the sides on by accident as only the other switch is wired around the ignition...

The easy way is to have the relay feed for dip/main ccts via the ignition, ignition off lights off, side lights will still work regardless.

good plan, though you may still end up leaving the sidelights on by accident. Will these not flatten the battery too fast i guess?

thats actually pretty easy, and theres a relay involved anyway so its no harder to wire...

sidelights/parking lights need to work regardless of ignition being on for SVA.
