Anyone tried one of these type of things to pass the SVA noise test ?

I've seen them for sale at Rufforth autojumble for £15

Nearly bought one, but not at that stage yet. I'll measure the standard exhaust first, to see if I have to frig it at all.

It wouldn't fit as shown down the end of the silencer pipe as most silencers fitted to our cars have a short tailpipe bent around thru 90 degrees.
I made up a small 'funnel' that fits in the end of the downpipe held there by 3 small 'dents' in the pipe that are hidden under the silencer joint. the silencer was then fitted.
The funnel reduces the 2" bore to about 1.25".
Not great for performance but should get you thru the SVA.
