just a thought before my SVA

Am I right in thinking I need two forms of immobiliser? I have the ignition key but no steering lock and I have a chip in the key(s) which work with the standard suzuki immobiliser. Now, I know the immobiliser works but how will the SVA chap know if he can't test it without a chipped key cos I have not got a key without a chip fitted

ha ha, a very good question...
if the immobiliser chip is in the key, how can he test it works, if the key HAS to be present to TRY and start the car.

mmm, i'm sure they have it all the time, so maybe they'll be happy enough with it?

if not, can you get a new key cut, without a chip in it? i would think any key cutting place could do one for you?

Hi Jason

Best thing is to give your SVA Tester a call, either telephone or visit. I rang mine several times with different queries and not only was he helpful he was pleased I did because he said it's a waste of time presenting a car with faults that could have been rectified for the sake of a call.

Best of luck

John
