do you have to have a marked warning light for the handbrake for sva? is this all you need or are there others?

Correct - its the only one that has to have the mark on the warning light itself. You need telltales for indicators, fog light and main beam too

To be exact - you need a marked BRAKE warning light for the SVA, one which comes on when the fluid level is too low. Most production cars wire this up to the handbrake as well so that the warning lamp gets tested every time you get into the car - a means of testing the brake warning light is also a SVA requirement.

I have a switch on my handbrake lever that makes a contact when the lever is pulled on - this switch is wired in parallel with the one on the brake fluid reservoir.
