fuel tank mounting

hi ive mounted my fuel tank on two rubber strips then made 2 alloy straps to go round and bolt to bottom members its all tight and sturdy . but a friend of mine says it needs to have a rubber insulater behind straps aswell ??

also is there a rule what steering wheel you use . i have a kart one 300mm with a 3 bolt quick relise hub

i believe that the steering wheel needs to be padded in the center and i seem to remember u wont pass SVA with a quick release hub.

think some one on hear used a quick relise hub as a security sysyem for sva egnition key and hub ??

A wheel can be retro fitted with a center pad so not the end of the world.

But quick release is one of 'those' areas. You can get them through SVA if (and only if) they cannot be release while the engine is running (welded link between key's are the trick IIRC).

Much easier to do the test with a 'normal' car wheel with lots of padding and no quick release though.
