Midi Reverse
wozsher - 9/11/09 at 11:10 AM

Trying to come up with a better reverse on a Middi the electric one fitted at the moment isnt up to the job.
The idea is to use a Quaife Reverse box mounted transversely behind the bike engine with sprockets fitted to the input and output shafts of the box,one chain form bike sprocket to the input sprocket on box, second chain from output sprocket to chain driven diff.
My main concern is the radial loadings on the bearings in the box.Anyone know what bearings(type) Quaife use.
All ideas /comments welcome
Cheers Warren

Can't answer your question but think Quaife are the ones to ask.

How about giving MNR a ring about thier reverse box and ask if it'd do the job. Supposed to be more efficient than Quaifes and not spew oil.
