My Car was built and registered in 2007 but the log book says:
Date of 1st registration - 1986
Date of 1st registration in UK - 2007
It is currently on SORN and I wonder if I am going to have to get an MOT to tax it again? The 1st registration date is the orignal donor car.
Cheers
Gary
yes you will need a mot to tax the car
Did you need an MOT at the anniversary of registration in 2008? In not then , No.
Did you SVA and register in 2007 as a new build? If so then you have 3 years before the first MOT so, No.
My vote goes for no but you may need to fill out an MOT Exemption form V112 I think it is.
Cheers
Rich
I would say not... but you should ask DVLA to change the Date of first registration from 1986 to 2007, because your car (not the donor) was not registered in 1986
Possibly not, but remember that the MOT is the cheapest safety inspection you can get and it may pick something up that you hadn't noticed (I had
mine MOTd and I had a damaged brake line I knew nothing about!) so for the sake of a few quid I'd have it tested!
Mark
NO you will not need an MOT until 2010, just fill out a V112 form (MOT exemption form) when you go to tax the car.
You don't need to MOT your car for 3 years, if it was built in 2007 then 2010 will be the first time you need to MOT the car.
These are DVLA rules, only they have trouble sticking to them
Edited cos I said TAX
