In a moment of madness, i bought a wilwood 1 inch tadem master cyllinder to replace my single outlet master cylinder without doing a whole lot of research. There were two reasons. One, the unit being a single cicuit didn't leave me feeling very safe and the other was the pedal travel was far too long, almost to the floor long.

The car has triumph herald brakes with rear drums

Anyway, after reading through the site, no one is using a 1 inch master cylinder. Will i be OK with this upgrade or not?

What you needed was Triumph Spitfire 1500 dual circuit master cylinder.

All Triumph Herald/Spitfire master cylinders are 0.7" bore with a 1" master cylinder you will require more than 50% extra force on the pedal to stop the car in the same distance..

Caterham also use a 0.7" bore cylinder on the models with Triumph brakes.

If you had long pedal travel with all Herald brakes bits it indicates something is wrong --- ie probably a mechanical fault eg a caliper with a seized piston, flexing pedal box mountings flexing, or rear brakes not correctly assembled.

Thanks for the feedback. Now that i have paid 100 pounds for it, do you think it is useable?

Try to find out what applications it is normally used for so. This might help you to sell it.
