Caliper Fitment Advice
bassett - 30/11/08 at 04:27 PM

Hi, Ive been assembling the front uprights and hubs which went together fine but then had a problem. Discs went on fine so i went to mount the caliper. The caliper wont fit unless extended from the bracket see pic below - red line shows its resting on the disc and the yellow shows the caliper extended from the caliper bracket. Is it just a case of needing washers to extend the caliper out - both surfaces are flat or do i need another bracket/smaller disc?

Cheers
Adam

Looks like you have been sent the wrong calipers or are using the wrong discs. Looking at the pad fitment the discs are way to big and the pad will only cover half the disc!

Yup I would say either the wrong discs or the wrong calipers.

As Mr prawnabie says the pads only cover half the available area of disc.

Completely forgot about that and was just looking at the fitment rather than pad coverage. Will speak to MNR in the week.

the discs are 265x10mm does that sound about right for a front end cortina setup? The uprights and hubs had been back to the manufacturer but without the discs so i assume the hubs, uprights and calipers(powerlite) are correct
