Which Steering Column
Daddylonglegs - 13/1/09 at 11:43 AM

I know most people are using (or seem to be) Sierra steering columns, but is that the only one suitable or are there any other ones that can be used.

I have an escort one at the moment which I acquired witht the steering rack some time ago. I know it will not pass the SVA/IVA because it is not collapsible, so want to know what else I can use as the Sierra ones seem to be as rare as Hens teeth! or stupid money.

I used a nova column as it has the crush section

Opel Manta for me, as the Nova, it has the crushable section and is a doddle to mount.
Also has the advantage of only 1 stalk. I hate those hedgehog Sierra things!!

according to a member on here an escort column WILL pass, as long as it has two UJ's along its length.

I have an escort column and am betting my SVA fee on him being right!

But are U willing to bet the IVA fee on it?
