Halfords do it, got some myself

Does it come as a spray or a paste? if both which is better?

I prefer paste. Less waste and envoironmentaly friendly.

where did you find copperslip to be the preferred lubricant?

silicone grease or red rubber grease is far more suitable for the job. by all means put copper grease on the bolt (which should be torqued up tight tight!) but the crush tube polybush interface wants lubricating with a proper grease, not an anti seize compound.

Seconded!

Copper grease is definitely not a good lubricant it is a high temperature anti seize compound.

take your pick from

Lucas/Girling/Castrol Red Rubber Grease
Silicone grease
Vaseline

Thanks for all the advice, Ok it sound like copper grease is a big no no.
i done a search on squeaky wishbones and found a few using or recommending copper grease, i will propbably now go with the silicone based option but did read that silicone spray dries up in time leading to squeaks not to sure if silicone grease is different? However vaseline would be the locost option!!

Halfords sell copper slip- either tubes or big tubs.

I know some people don't like using it for bushes but it's what I used when I started the build in 2001 and no squeeks still.....

dont use oil based grease it deteriates poly bushes ( vasiline) other than that i agree with all the above posts!

I used silicon grease (from the push bike shop) comes in a tooth past type tube ! and was cheap!

Get shot of the squeaks by changing to the black bushes sold by Mac1 and others that have a bit of give in them.
The blue mk ones are very hard and if you dont keep them lubed they can wear quite quickly if they are dry.

Copaslip is not a lubricant it is an anti-seize compound Use it on wheel studs and things you want to get back off and as said before use the proper stuff for each individual job, the silicon grease sounds good for this application.

Just to folow up i have re-built the rear end using silicone grease in a spray from halfords seems to have done the trick, took a while to do but im really pleased i have done it now than when everything else was in the way!!
Thanks to all who have helped and pointed me in the right direction

Best thing is rubber grease, usually used on brake parts.
Silicone grease should be ok.

Mineral (axle / wheel) grease is a no no.
Copperslip is wrong as well - Its anti seize compound.
