I've done my pedals from a chopped up set of MK2 Micra pedals.
Basically they look like a bag of shite, are heavy and being top mounted they waste space.
Also, now I've mounted the engine I find that I've a choice of putting the rearmost exhaust pipe through either the master cylinder or the
steering column- neither being a massively attractive prospect! 
So question is- have people generally gone for top or bottom mounted?

Floor mounted gold pedal box from Luego, its the way to go
I had my rear most carb wanting the same space as my ex Sierra M/C with top mounted 
Luego gold.
i plan to go top mount its only because my wifes old bmw had a floor mounted throtle and i found it very uncomfortable
i have just started looking into this mark allanson has posted some info what i have found out though
is top mounted peddles seem to take up a lot of room so if you are tall it might cause you a problem

I have top mount, and think they SAVE space.
there is room behind my clutch pedal to rest your foot. as a locost isnt exactly flushed with foot width room, being able to rest your foot behind
stops riding the clutch.
The hanging position allow clearance under to slip your foot past
I managed to modify the std sierra / granada brake system without too much trouble.........but abs made the bit forward of the pedals a tad more
complicated!

I have a top mounted clutch pedal for the same reason but mounted the brake pedal on the floor to get the mastercylinder out of the way .The throttle
is also top mounted as i dislike floor mounted throttle pedals.

It does mean that you can't fit a standard servo though - not sure how relevant this is.

splitrivet - 4/2/04 at 10:04 AMMetro assembly, top mounted, piece of wee to do, cut about 4-5 inch off the pedals weld 1 3/4 square of 1/4 plate at the bottom to get the foot plate away from the pedal arm and drop it in,job done.
Servo /master cylinder looks nice and neat sitting above pedals and the accelerator pedal is a doddle to fit too.
Can be fitted in an hour or less, no sweat.

So maybe I should change to something else??

Stu16v - 4/2/04 at 07:32 PMFloor mount, funnily enough using a (heavily) modified Metro pedal box, with a top mount loud pedal. As Steve says, there is basically nowhere to rest the left foot when motoring, unlike my Westy with top mounts, I just tuck my foot underneath.
Probably best not to draw conclusions on floor mount pedals in tintops, unless the seating postion is similar to a Locost. In a tintop you are sat far higher than the pedals, whereas with a locost your legs tend to almost be straight. I personally find that floor mount seem to be more natural for feet ankle movement in such a car. My loud pedal is top mounted because a) it simplifed design and b) it seems to be more conducive to heel/toeing

Does the accelerator pedal go through the floor and the cable attached under the floor when in the correct position? It looks that way from the piccy you posted.
secondly are the pedals mounted on Polybushes?

i have read somones comment about needing at least 5/1 ratio to give decent brakes and feel
