Steering shaft/column design input

Hey guys.

Trying to figure out my steering shaft and column setup. I think I have something I am happy with, but want some input.

Dont mind the bad doodle. Just the easiest way to get things across.

The shaft stops are these ones: http://www.speedwaymotors.com/STEERING-SHAFT-STOP,2045.html

I am wondering a couple things:
- the shaft stops enough to keep me from moving the wheel fore/aft? I dont think there is a lot of axial force in steering wheels.
-should I have shaft stops on the forward heim? Obviously will end the safety aspect of the collapsable column but does it need to be kept from moving fore/aft there from the Ujoints?

Basically what this does is give me a simple, small, somewhat light steering column that can be adjusted fore/aft (by loosening the shaft stops) and a little vertically (by adjusting the heims).

Cheers.

Should be Ok as you drew it.

If you have stops on the forward heim you will stop the collapsable bit.
