fiat steering rack question
Paul (Notts) - 5/2/09 at 08:28 PM

Does any one know if there is any difference between a FIAT CINQUECENTO steering rack and a FIAT SEICENTO steering rack.

Slowly building up a selection of parts for my next build and am looking for a small manual rack.

Cinquecento rack is nice and narrow, but does have quite a few turns lock-to-lock. It was designed for rear mounted steering arms. But this should not be too much of a problem for your Terrapin (centre steering wheel). Or of course you could get a rack from a LHD Fiat and turn it over if using on a front mount steering arm with right hand steering wheel
I've not had a close look at e Seicento rack but pictures look similar to the Cinquecento.
I have a Cinquecento rack here if you need any dimensions.

JUst looked at some pics and they look the same.
Don't rely on your Fiat dealer It took me three visits to get the right wheel bolt for my daughters Punto.
