Hi Just bought formula 27 looking at the shocks they appear to be labelled as something like AVO or similar not very clear any suggestions

AVO are a good 'budget' shock absorber and are very 'fit for purpose' on your car.

You can get a rebuild/check from AVO for about £25 + VAT per unit. They will be as good as new after that!

They will only be fit for purpose if both they and the springs are the correct length. From your previous post on here it seems that its the spring length that is the issue. Did you get to the bottom of that one at all??

because I could only feel and not see the shock at the time I was mistaken as to the amount of thread showing ,apologies, I have now found that the previous owner wound the back springs up for some unknown reason to give a higher ride at the rear about 1 .5 in he also had the front dampers set on 0 and the rear on 16 (total clicks 20) the front bounced and the rear was as solid as rock.I have returned everything to what I assume is normal but unable to try for weather Hoping it will make a difference Than kd everyone for the help cheers Keith

I have them and I've had no problems.

If you buy new shocks from Avo, or get some renovated, ask them to set them up for a light car - they did it for me at no extra charge. All they'll need to know is the type of car, approximate weight, strength of springs you intend to use, and so on.

In reality, I think they only set them up for a light, medium or heavy car - but at least you'll be in the right ball-park. Off the shelf they're probably set up for a heavier car than the Locost.

Depending on how old they are they might not want to touch them if thinking of having them serviced.
