Does anyone know what the steering column offset is if you are not using a crushable column?

Another quick Q, did the later Capris have a crushable column?

for sva you need a colapsible column and lower u/j at least 10 deg angle,if the column has a triangular tube that is the colapers

So 'The Book' is wrong in saying you can use the Escort column then, 'cos none of them were crushable. I know it also suggests Sierra columns.

I was hoping to get away with using all the bits off a Capri hence the second second question above.

the book is wrong in MANY respects!

Book one has a car with single cct brakes - not allowed. And has a winscreen with no wipers or demist facility.

get a copy of the sva manual and treart anything in 'the book' with a lot of caution!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the warnings guys i know the books got errors in it, quite a few on the chassis alone. Having done the CAD model I have picked up on them

In fairness to Ron Champion the book was first published pre-SVA. Having said that it hasn't been changed a lot since.........
