My next step in the never-ending-story is to get the steering rack mounted so I can sort out getting the column and mount in place.

My question is, am I right in thinking that to avoid bump-steer, I need to ensure that the track rod arms are parallel with the lower wishbone when viewed from the front?

And are there any other gems I need to be aware of?

I may be wrong but the rack needs to be parallel with the ground ideally which may not mean the arm is quite parallel.

Keep the rack directly (ie fore/aft & up/down) between the steering connections on the uprights and with inner joints on the plane between upper and lower wishbones. In order to do that, you need to have all suspension assembled with wheels on and car sitting at (or very close to) its ride height.

You may not be able to manage the inner joint position because of your rack, I had mine shortened to the right size (and I have zero bumpsteer).

And don't forget that the line between the centre of the joints needs to be parallel with the floor, ideally. As the centre of outer ball joint is (usually) slightly above the wishbone, then the wishbone will appear to be tilting downwards slightly when set up properly.
