That thing, there, it's stuck, any ideas how to get it off non destructively? otherwise, destructively and where do I get a new one?

Cheers

I presume you mean siezed on the splines.

Drive a small chisle or screwdriver into the slot. Should come off easy enough then.

tried that with a screwdriver, will try a chisel later when it's less wet out there.

Nice and sunny now, but the drive's still a bit nasty.

Ended up working through an hour long horizontal shower earlier, not pleasant.

I dont want to hijack but is there a replacement upgrade for that part that doesnt involve a huge bit of soft rubber, so the feel will be a bit sharper?

chris_harris_ - 16/5/09 at 03:43 PM

I ground of the heads of the studs, removed the rubber then bolted it together instead, took all of thirty minutes, and much beter IMO.

Got it.

I was using the wrong random implement found in the shed, the right one did the job nicely.

Oh, and it started raining again as soon as I got outside.

Have a look at Rally Design, they do a U/J coupling IIRC.

Luego do a polyurethane one IIRC.

Or they did about 4/5 years ago!
