"not sure about using a £12 rose joint on suspension..."

indeed, but what are others experiences of these joints for suspension use? i was looking at buying m16 joints for about 180 quid, if these would be a reasonable low milage alternative, ie 3 sets would last as long as one set of the higher cost ones or better, so it would be more cost effective to buy the cheap ones?

edit to add quote, blake was too quick for me to reply right underneath!!

ok have ordered those ones. they are for the rear upper wishbone camber adjuster.

i am only getting them as i cant find m18 1.5 studding to make normal bushed camber adjusters

Sorry chap, wasn't saying you were, i was more saying i cant trust the quality lol how can i get the same thing for 50 and 180 somewhere else...? something must be different i recons

i hope they're alright, my whole suspension is made of them. the thinking behind it is they were cheap to get the car built up. if they wear too quick or whatever i'll replace them with expensive ones when they need it. if they turn out good, i'll get some more

hellbent345 - 30/5/09 at 10:23 PM

good enough for me, ill get them then! i dont need much persuasion to save 130 quids!!

Thankin you
Al

i've not driven my car with them yet btw!
but i've spoke to billy himself, he supplies to all the stock car racers at cowdenbeath, i tend to think the stress put through them is likely to be more on race car suspension. but have a look at the load data on his page, and compare to others.

I made mine from cheap transit drag links that we use for the front upper balljoints!

They're really cheap from Lolocost, I just cut off the head and used the threaded bar piece. I welded a bush tube to the end of this.

That meant I could easily get some 18x1.5mm threaded tube to use for the rear wishbones too.

Hope that makes sense.

Cheers,
James

thats my plan im going to use the rose joints and if they dont last i will cut the thread ends off and weld them to the bush tubes.
