One of the master cylinder pipe unions is leaking on the cylinder and at seems the cylinder is leaking where the plastic reservoir meets the shaft.
I still have the plastic strip, so i know its a Ford item.
How much should a repair kit cost and any special tools?
Buy a new M/Cylinder?
PTFE tape wrapped round the reservoir bottle connectors usually stops it leaking. The rubber seals tend to dry out and harden. Either do that or pull some off a car in the scrappy
Do I read that you have two leaks? One from the brake pipe union one as above ^^^

If you pull the reservior out and refit, you tend to find that debris ends up getting into the master cylinder (no matter how carefull you are),
unless you completely strip and rebuild the master cylinder.
Personally I would NEVER rebuild a Brake Master cylinder.
^ actually its a doddle (only a few simple rubber seals & pistons) and kits are readily available. So long as the bore of the cylinder isn't
worn or scratched then it can easily be reused. It might sound daunting but I used to do them quite a bit, oh the good old days
I'd agree with Mr Wippy no problem to re-build (but you need to be careful) .. the snag is you can't seem to get rebuild kits any more for
the sierra one; it's simpler to get a new old stock item...

I overhauled my master cylinder - not a great problem, as long as you take care and pay attention to cleanliness.
