Rear hub top mount for irs
andya - 5/8/02 at 10:15 PM

Hi All
I have made my own rear hubs for Sierra Irs
and intended to make the top mounting
adjustable for camber. I originally was
going to use a bush as per the rest of
the suspension by welding a length of
threaded rod to a bush tube. Now I'm not
so sure. If that weld breaks I'm in the s**t. Anyone got any ideas?

Cheers
Andy

Andy,

I did have same reservations I must admit, however that's what I'm doing. I bought the piece - already made, from Luego.

Made my own wishbones; upright adaptors still to do!

Following is IMHO - usual disclaimers etc

Presumably your lower (triangulated) wishbone has four "connecting points" ie two to the chassis, and two to the upright adaptor. Believe this should "take the strain" while upper should control camber / suspension.

Hope this boosts your confidence (a little).

Regards

Simon

Hi Simon
It certainly does. I didnt know they were available from Luego.
What is the inside diameter of the bush tube?

I looked on their website but couldnt see them listed (I could be blind however)

Andy,

I don't have them at hand, but (very) approximately an inch i/d, maybe 1 1/4". I'll try and get more accurate reply by Tue
ue eve if you like.

I've bought quite a bit of stuff from them, and they've been very helpful. Believe they are in the process of revamping their website at present.
