I am after some wheel spacers that from my rough calculation would be 60mm depth,
They would be normal ford 108 PCd to 108 PCd, and would look similar to these on ebay

60mm spacers? Yikes... You'd need to get them made but I wouldn't use them.

I got 20mm ones from above . would think hard about going any bigger!

anyone seen chopshop? They seemed to get away with what must have been over 100mm spacers!

Most of the mr2 ferrari kits use 100mm spacers. defo puts a strain on the bearings.

I have seen some of these crap programmes were they stick ridiculasley large spacers on

But as mentioned, saftey and bearing wear, means i wont be going down this route !

If I remember rightly the chopshop ones were closer to 150mm!!!!

i have used 50mm hubcentric spacers. got them from an internet site last year. set me back about 130quid i think. i will try and find the site again. the spacers are top quality ones and fitted perfect.

I've been thinking a bit about spacers lately and came to the conclusion that there is no difference in terms of load that the hub will see, between fitting a -60mm offset wheel with a 60mm spacer and fitting a 0 offset wheel.

In fact, from how I've looked at it, load on the hub is more greatly affected by wheel diameter or rolling radius than offset- especially if you are bringing the offset closer to 0 with the spacers.

In summary, I'd say if its cheaper to fit the spacers, fit the spacers.

When I built my Fury I was sold front wheel drive offset wheels , and had to fit spacers (I knew nothing about offset , and they wouldnt take them back )
I still have 22mm hubcentric spacers on the back , using the same logic as nasty-bob the loads are no different to having the correct offset.
The front , however , was a different ball game - with the spacers it was twitchy and hard to steer in a straight line on bumpy roads - so I dumped the spacers and stretched the wishbones by 22mm .
Problem solved

After reading the later posts, i am back on thinking about these spacers, as my locost for the last 10 years has been on 13/6j wheels with a 25mm spacer on the back.

all i am trying to do is use 13/5j rs 4 spokes, as they are considrably lighter, yet the actual wheel track and measurment will be no different to what it is at present.

even with spacers (unless they are made of lead) will still give a good weight saving, and improve the look ??

i have been thinking of the same thing as nasty bob as it was a big decision to use the wide wheel spacers. i didnt want to sell my wheels as i would of had to buy a new set, so spacers worked out a little bit cheaper and easier. BTW i have only used them on the rear not the front.
