I have had this quick rack for about a year, only last week i got it shortened to fit the car.
I now cant take the steering rack apart to put the new one in and time is against me as i go to the Ring this weekend!
I have tried to make two kinds of tools (and broken them). I have also modified and tried the tool from my angle grinder in desperation. They bend or
break!
I also went to the ford garage and they had never seen a tool for this FORD Sierra steering rack..CRAZY talk!
Please has anyone actually done this...HOW did you do it! I need quick steering for the Ring.

The aluminium casing will have been punched a few times around the plug to stop it unscrewing by itself. Get a screwdriver and hammer and destroy
these little dents so that there is no obstruction to unscrewing the plug.
Make some new ones with a centre punch when you put it back in.
ok i'll give it a try!
That didn't work, it's still solid as a rock. Any other suggestions would help me out alot? Anything!
I know it's stating the obvious but in the photo it looks like there's a grubscrew about half an inch below your spanner - that would stop you dead.
Thanks for the tip but unfortunately thats where i have drilled another hole just to check to see if it IS threaded.
Anyone else achieved this?
