Mondeo St TDCI 2007
On the rear caliper, does anyone know if the pistons turns clockwise or anti clockwise to wind them back in for new pads.
Anti clockwise i believe
Ah, apparently they are different ... depends which side your doing. Thats stupid !!!
One side is clockwise, one side is anticlockwise.
Taken from Wiki....
On right hand caliper, the piston must be pushed hard whilst rotating it clockwise. For the left hand caliper it must be rotated counterclockwise.
(Estates, it says, are the opposite way round! EDIT BY DOJJ I can confirm that the estate has the passenger side rotating anti clockwise to screw in.
I can also conform that the estate uses different calipers to the hatchback and saloon cars and the calipers are NOT interchangeable.
Cheers ben, i only have a clockwise tool sods law, the drivers side was tight as a nun furry bit, turns counter clock but not the other, and i also
have the wrong pads somehow, what a productive morning, at least i cleaned the wheels and fired up the compressor
I have a saloon, but on my windback tool it siad all ford ( apart form ABS models ) which i have so.
Its due its service next month, i was just trying to keep the cost down,
