cleowuss - 6/8/09 at 07:24 PM

Hi all

Just had a problem with a rear stub shaft (the shaft in the rear up right) upon tightening it stripped the thread and left the nut thread bound so after half an hour with the grinder to remove the nut I need a new shaft

Westfield sell the but does any body else?

Are you using Westfield Alloy rear uprights?
If so - the Westfield stub axles (Lobro type) are approximately 10mm shorter than the standard Sierra stub axles (from the bolt on flange face to the inside bearing.
The Westfield upright requires the special Westfield drive flange as their upright has different bearings compared with the Sierra version.
The parts are otherwise interchangeable.

Hi

Yes its the westfield upright and their hub
tightend up the hub nut and it started to spin would'nt tighten would'nt slacken, nut removed via the grinder treads on stub shaft awol, new stub shaft required need a supplier other than Westfield if poss.

I seem to recall that the Westfield stub axles were not too expensive £60 ish.. each (and they are very good quality).

I have one set of second hand Sierra stub axles here.
