Brake line Brackets - where from and the best?
Irony - 18/8/09 at 02:11 PM

Hi all,

I am looking at pinning my brake lines back to the chassis and I am wondering what other people used and where they got them from. Cable ties seemed the simplest solution but they are not very nice looking and the IVA man probably won't like them.

any thoughts?

rubber lined P clips are good, or you get sort of push on clip ones too.
if you do a search on here theres plenty about them

aha I was searching for brackets rather than clips, cheers

Best to use OEM style push in clips as gives a a profesional finish and they keep the pipe clear of the chassis, you can also get double ones , and double ones and ones that take both brake and fuel lines.

Pclips tend look a bit B&Q

One concern with the push in clips is moisture getting inside the chassis. IHMO the P clips held on by rivnuts, also easy removal.

Rubber lined P clips without a doubt is the way to go

if you choose P clips, get stainless with rubber lining, or they will look tatty very quickly.

I used the push in clips when I built mine , with a smidge of sykaflex to seal/glue them in - that was ten years ago , and they are still there........
