I've been reading around on some other projects and have seen this front drop beam off a hot rod and wondered if it might be useful on a De Dion axle?

Basically it's two brass inserts bolted together with a washer inbetween and then inserted into the axle to give it more flexibility.
Do we think there may be durability issues with it being brass, plus with the weight of the car acting upon the beam, is it likely to prematurely fail at that point?

I cant see why you would want flexibilty in an axle ?
