what have people used as a bearing ?
got any pics ?
No picture but a lot of people use the ubiquitous Mcgill rose joint, no need to worry about perfect alignment then.

Just took the damper off mine, bushes, not bearings..
if this is to hold a steering column with two uj's in it, i used a anti roll bar bush.
Its designed to hold something that twists and for me was a fraction larger than the size of the tube so has no friction.
I have the same problem with the falcon and was going to use one of these -

the range they do - linky2

On the TVR I machined a nylon top hat and pressed it into a steel tube welded to the chassis...
On the Robinhood I used a bearing like what whippy said!
