Yet another post from a clueless keen learner,
right i have posted recently saying the steering column is rubbing on the altenator, so i would like to change to a shorter belt instead of raising
the engine up, so
firstly how do i tell what length belt i have on at the moment, there are quite a few numbers on there,
and i have changed belts before and i dont think there will be anything differant about this one right?
many thanks
Hi Ant,
Take the old one off and tie a piece of string in its place and pull it tighter until you find the length that you want and then measure it and buy a
belt, Halfords have a resonable selection and are quite cheap.
i hope the parcel gets to you soon.
ATB
cheers, all sorted
or you could have made a couple of brackets and raised the alternator like i did
Funny that as I had to drop the alternator on my Tiger and so made up a bracket.
