Anyone have a clue what this was originally intended for... it's definitely Ford geometry if that helps!

This is the dead spit of the hubs on my Quantum Xtreme. I believe they are bespoke units but have sierra fittings as this is what the donor is.

What are they currently on?
A-ha... I knew someone would know! They are the ones as fitted to my Quantum Xtreme as well! I assumed they were Ford re-con ones, but couldn't
place them!
I'll call Quantum in the morning and see what brake upgrade kit they recommend... do you have any recommendations Kermit!

I'd certainly be interested in knowing the weight comparison to a standard sierra upright as I'm after some lightweight units for my car - was thinking about making my own.
I have 240mm (ish) vented sierra disks on the front.
Not sure what the pads are but they have no bite when cold - great when warm.
Drums on the back seem to be well up to the job although if I were building, I would put disks on the back simply for looks.
There is a Quantum Owners Club day at Curborough on the 17th so I guess I will find out what they are really like then...

Cheers... I was also going to change the drums on mine - I'm guessing the rear uprights will also be their own jobbies as well?

yup!
I believe if you want to change to rear disks you may need new uprights because of the different shape of the stub axle with the ABS ring on.
The alternative is having your uprights machined out enough for the new stubs to fit.
Ta.
Was looking at some of your pics on Picasa - is your rear tub and wings a one-piece unit?

I've got a set of cossie 4 pot calipers if you need them, the big heavy iron ones (in need of a recon)
and I'll sortly have a spare set of recon sierra rear calipers (solid disc ones, but no carriers)
how big a job does your engine swap look like now you've got the car ?

Cheers Robert... it's gonna be a big job - hopefully Widz will take pity on me and become my own personal spanner-wench!
Feel free to come round and have a look.
