just a possibly silly question
why do most people seem to use maxi balljoints when there must be something more readily available and more modern ???
i am looking for something to fit sierra uprights

Do a search but there is an Alfa ball joint that fits with out reaming the upright but it does need a spacer under the nut as the tapper is longer than the maxi.

Just be careful when choosing balljoints from other applications that they are suitable for the direction of the loads. Anything from the bottom arm of a McPherson strut type suspension is likely not suitable.
