Master Cylinder Repair Kit

Hi all.

Just got myself a second-hand Mk Fiesta MC and need to get a repair kit for it.

I make the bore to be 20.4mm and I have put a couple of pictures below.

There is no plastic band around it so I cannot use that to find the parts. Does anyone know what kit I will need?

There will be part numbers cast into the alloy pistons, simply type them into google

Have you checked the bore inside? If it’s too worn there will be a noticeable step about halfway down, if it has I’d be careful about using it as this can sometimes flip the seal and cause the brakes to fail, as I’ve found out myself.

hi mate,

I've just ordered a caliper overhaul kit from bigg red - http://www.biggred.co.uk/cylinderrepairshop.html - they have an "Master Cylinder Repair" section...

You'll have to have a look through the Catalogue to find your model and then order the right kit from the first link.... Failing that, send them a quick email with picture included and they should be able to advise which kit you need (they did for my calipers)

new cylinders are soooooo cheap from the likes of brakes international,is it worth the risk?

What would you recommend for M16 fronts (solid discs) and 9" rear drums?

I've just bought a Fiat 124 non servo cylinder from Brakes International following Conrod's recommendation.

It was about £30 delivered. Not fitted yet but should be in the next couple of weeks.

I'm running standard Sierra disks and drums.

a cortina m/s should be fine for that as that were the brakes fitted to them. I'd give you a link but the supplier I used has had their web page account suspended!
