Either put repair kit on or but a more suitable smaller bore mastercylinder.

All the will be wrong with the cylinder is the rear most seal (ie pedal end) will be worn due the crud the accumulates in the end of the bore.
Clean the bore up, fit new seals well lubricate the seals and bore with Carstrol Red Rubber grease and all will be well.

Totally agree with this, would be worth finding a cover to stop dirt getting in to any replacement..

Seal kits are like rocking horse s**t to get hold of and are usualy about £25/£30 if you can find one.

I'm not sure it matters all that much which cylinder you use as long as it's a sierra one or you know enough about it design your own braking system.

I wouldn't fit a seal kit to a master cyinder to try and correct a failed seal. In my experience seals fail for a reason (corrosion, bore damage etc) and the reason why they fail is not corrected by fitting a new seal kit.

I would just get which ever new one I could that fits the description of sierra master cylinder and adjust the pipework accordingly to fit.

Cheers

spoke to brakes int and ordered one from a mk2 escort rs2000.

the sierra one is 22mm bore and the escort one is 20.6. according to the the chap on the phone it should fit fine and make the brakes sharper.
