Anyone know a firm that would build steel wheels?
2cv - 8/12/09 at 01:49 PM

As the heading, I'm looking for a firm that would custom build a set of steel wheels to my specified rim size and offset.

Any suggestions please.

Last time I spoke to Weller they were in administration and couldn't quote on any custom work. The guy on the phone sounded very depressed indeed.

How long ago was that? I thought they were in trouble a few years ago but had come through it. The were selling mail order but now sell exclusively through Polley (just checked their website)

Thank you all for your replies. It obviously isn't going to be easy to find what I'm looking for; 15 inch rims 4.5 inch wide, Ford 4 stud spacing and an offset et19.

Once again, many thanks.

Guessing from your Username...
Would it not be easier to get the hubs machined?

I was given the above contact when looking for some steel wheels for a trailer. Haven't contacted them yet though, so can't say what or how they are.

Cheers,
Nev.

Cheers Nev, I've contacted them and await their reply.

2cv - 10/12/09 at 06:19 PM

To follow on Nev, I've just had a call from WheelsUK no more than 30 minutes from my contacting them. A really nice chap and a good possibility they can make what I want. It's really nice to get such a quick and enthusiastic response. Would that more were like that!!

The work should not be beyond the scope of any small engineering company. Where are you based?

2cv - 10/12/09 at 07:53 PM

Gazza we're out Cambridge way.

Yes, there's a thought. I can feel a trip to the Breakers coming on.

Many thanks for that.

right you want focus spare wheels,

they do them 98-05 mk1/2 shape,

they are 15" x4" 4x 108 offset i would think to be around et42 like standard focus wheels,

if you require some i can sort you 4 new ones
