Ive changed the seals on my front brake calipers, and i also had to drill out and re tap one calipers bleed nipple.

I want to just check theyll still work properly before i out them on the car. Is gthere anyway to do this?

wouldn't bleeding them soon find any leaks, you could connect the hoses and just g-clamp the callipers or just fit them on and try bleeding, if theres a leak they wont bleed properly

Fit them and test them on the car....!

i dont have all my hoses and stuff yet, and if there ot right then il buy some E46 brakes (vented discs and my hubs are E46, current brakes are E36 and have to be spaced to fit)

So dont want to get my hoses and everything to find they dont work and i need new calipers discs and hoses, might just get the bigger calipers and discs anyway, not that expensive

Without hoses and hydraulic pressure you cant really test them, cheaply.

I'm guessing someone has a machine somewhere, but would be cheaper to get some old hoses and rig them up somehow.

I think im just going to go with a newer set of calipers to go with my hubs, that way i get vented discs aswell!

Do you really need vented disks? They are a fair bit heavier and you arent likely to need the extra cooling capacity of the vented disks on a lightweight kit.

I'd be tempted to get a hose from a breakers and go straight off the master cylinder to the caliper in order to pressure test it.

one way to connect air line, then a bit of water with washing up liquid applied to the nipple area will show up leaks as bubbles.

you'd need to put a block of wodd between the pistons to stop them popping out.

ofcourse an airline won't reach same sort of pressure hydraulics do but if it leaks, then you know you need to reassesss the sssituation.
