I'm thinking the Mk1 has four studs. At a 100mm PCD. Vauxhaul wheels should fit. If they're 5 studs, they'll be 5x114mm so look for any Jap fitment stuff but I doubt there'll be much on a 8x13". You could get some skinny steel ones and get them banded?

ETA:Check the bore size as I think the Vauxhall are a 56.6mm and the MX5, a bit smaller. Nothing a stepped spacer wouldn't fix.....

Isn't that a) illegal and b) more importantly could be pretty dodgy?

Banded steels are totally legal.

However, like any modifications, if the mod causes and accident then you're in trouble!

IIRC, Kieth at Scarborough Racing Developements had some wide VX rims in stock. Try him here: http://www.scarbro-racing.co.uk/

They are 4x100 with an et of 38 on a 6.5j rim. now im running 195.50.15 on road tyres, going to have a go sprinting & i've been told there's more choice of tyres with 13". Jon
