Caliper identification
aka Keith - 15/3/10 at 05:18 PM

Following on from my earlier post about sierra 4x4 calipers, I am now very confused.

linky here

I thought that I had sierra 4x4 back end, but according to the online info I can find, the piston on 4x4 calipers is 43mm, but the piston on mine is only 40mm - -so what calipers do I have, does anyone have any ideas. (solid disk if that helps)

I do not want to replace both , if I do not have too, but I want to sure that I am ordering the correct thing - if I am only ordering one side.

Would much appreaciate your thoughts,
Cheers
Craig

Meany, I have looke and looked at this site, but can only find calipers with pistons of 42.8mm bore.

so where do my 40mm come from?

I assume thatif I have different bore sizes on each side of the car I will have different braking pressures on each side, which is a no no.

So i either need to replace both rear calipers (which I do not want to do) or identify this rear caliper so that I can get it replaced.
