Iv just picked up my shortened prop ready for my first drive at the we hopefully
One thing i wanted to check though, if i glue four magnets for the speedo to the prop, will that imbalance it enough to be even slightly worried about
failure?
I sent my magnets, and epoxy putty to D&F when they rebuilt my prop. They balanced it after bonding the magnets on, and I was surprised how big the balancing weight was. Still, before that it ran fine without being balanced....
If u put 2 opposite each other, and the other 2 opposite each other, they 'should' balance each other out.
Ok thanks. Iv just put the prop in and the prop is actually too low to put the pickup where i was planning so im going to put the magnets on the output of the gearbox (as there are some conveniently placed bolts i can use to mount the bracket) so any vibration shouldnt be as bad as if it were in the middle.
Within an inch of the ends should not affect the balance much, if you can attach them to the yoke it should have no effect at all.
