I know that I should use a 1.8 Zetec Escort flywheel on my 2.0 Mondeo Zetec engine. But which one?!?! I'm told that there are 7 different 1.8
Zetec Escort flywheels in existance!?!?!
Does anyone have more detailed info? Do I need a "flat" or a "deep" flywheel?!?!
Or does anyone have picture of the right one?!?!

Wow seven, I just bought a 1.8 Escort Zetec flywheel from the breakers, had it skimmed to clean the face up and fitted it with a 1.8 mondeo clutch
cover and plate and a Ford Capri release bearing. All fitted OK. Yet to drive the car but this seems to be the general part combination used.
see

ps - my flywheel is a thinish one with a taper from the clutch face to the ring gear. Can't take a photo as it's on the car now.
and don't forget the sierra spigot bearing for the end of the crankshaft

Try www.raceline.co.uk
They are Zetec experts and they sell flywheels and clutches to do exactly what your wanting.
Kind regards,
Darren
They only seem to sell a lightened flywheel. Of course that's the thing to have, but my budget won't allow it.
Soooo, still looking for it.
ring your local Ford place with the FINIS numbers from the web site I posted:
http://www.gibbs111.fsnet.co.uk/eng_gear_comb.htm
they'll soon tell you what car(s) they were fitted to.....then off to the scrapyard. More part numbers in the attachment below
Givemethebighammer (what's in a name!); thanks!
No Problem, name relates to my tool of choice when things are not going to plan. Might end up trashing the thing I'm working on, but it's
great way to release that frustration (cost me a few quid though on a few occasions !!!)
