rebending copper brake lines
Fishface - 21/4/10 at 07:55 AM

i need to re-route some brake lines that have been in place for a good few years. Good idea or better to replace them? Does the copper become brittle in any way?

Thanks

Rob

As its not a huge cost, i would replace them.

Yeah its 40p a foot at my local factors - less if you buy more - its just not worth re-using it.

i think kunifer is cupronickel isnt it?

im sure thats what I got my replacement brakeline made from and it was so much easier to work with than copper.

Copper tubing work hardens if re-bent. As said, replace with new as it's fairly cheap.
