Haynes roadster front wishbones

Right, still trying to get my head round the best choice for front suspension once I get building the roadster (hopefully this summer).

Is there a reason why the shock mount on the lower front bones isn't closer to the upright balljoint? As the way it's shown, it's putting the tubes and flat plate in bending which can't be good?
Or are the specified tubes/plate sizes overspec'd to the point where this isn't an issue?

Cheers,
Pavs

No reason at all, its better practice to point at the ball joint so thats what I have done. Infact if you search this forum you will find examples of the bones bending as you describe.

Only thing to watch is that the top spring seat does not foul the top wishbone.
