a sierra non power assisted rack
my problem is, the rod ends are not long enough , but too long to put rod extenders like a lot of the kit car manufacturers supply
i need about another 15mm length each end, as the outs rod ends are only screwed on by about 3 turns!
anyone know if any other fords are the same ball size yet longer, and still m14??
could you use a female rose joint?
And then just put a bolt through?
no sure if they are longer or shorter though (possible shorter, but then enable you to fit rack extensions)
I'm currently looking at the same problem and think I will have to shorten the track rods to get the extensions on.
Article in Complete Kit Car had the same problem with the riot, they cut the track rod end back and the threaded part of the rack back.
Is it a standard Sierra rack? Won't you have bump steer if it's not cut down? I'm not sure I completely understand the
problem.............
