can anyone tell us if you can still use
the cush drive coupler at the rack end
or does it have to be a steel u/j
if so where can i get them
why sholdnt you be able to use the rubber joint, like 3 million or so sierras did
atb

I used the rubber joint. Just need to take care that you don't set fire to it when you extend the shaft.
have you been through sva with it ?
Is the angle that the rubber works at similar to the Sierra (or other donor)??
If it is then there is no problem, but the steering will obviously be slightly "rubbery"!!
If you want to avoid this, you can use a group 4 Ford Escort mk2 coupling UJ, which is a solid UJ with no rubber, available new from many places,
(e.g. Rally Design, part number RD820, price £14.80 Plus VAT)
ns dev .... thanks for that
