What are the best pads for Sierra calipers on a 7?, EBC, Mintex, A N Other?
The calipers and discs are 2litre(vented), I know solid discs would be better, but the vented discs and Big Red calipers are on the car, and to be
honest I just want to get the thing finished without changing anything else
So all donations gratefully received
I used EBC green stuff in my last car and found they improved both feel and bite over the standard pads, some people seem not to like them though.
Mintex 1144's are really good or Ferodo DS2500.
I went for EBC Yellow stuff - I got in touch with the guys at EBC and they recommended these for a 7.
They have a higher friction coeffecient than green stuff and work really well hot and cold. Also only cost about £30.

mintex 1144
I'd vote for Ferodo DS2500 pads.
mintex 1144 on mine.
dont be worried about the vented discs.
my 240mm sierra vented discs were a whole 1.5kg lighter than my 260mm solid discs that come with my wilwood kit.
on the plus side the wilwood callipers weigh only 1kg per side compared to the sierra callipers that are 4kg a side.
its all swings and roundabouts.
i haven't really bedded my new brakes in yet only done 5 miles but i can already feel the difference. not sure if its the 1144's will woods
or solid discs but as a package its fab.
1144s are head & shoulders above the EBC stuff IMO - they transformed my (vented) brakes, working great from cold and no fade, even when really
pushing it.

who sells 1144 and ds2500 for powerlites?
I got my 1144s from Rally Design - not sure about the DS2500s though ... maybe Burtons?
The DS2500s are primarily race pads so be careful that you have enough heat to make them work properly (probably not so good with vented discs) -
brilliant pads but they need a very careful bedding in procedure or will glaze very easily.
Could anybody tell me how thick the 1144s should be (including the mounting plate)? Mine are a fraction over 11mm.
I ue black stuff in mine, never overheated and usually fine on the road
