Cortina axle and hand brake cable/ asembly pics needed
davrus - 25/5/10 at 12:18 PM

Howdy

I also require some pics of a hand brake asembly for the cortina axle.

Reading other post it apears the cables are being shortened, where about do you shorten them and if cutting the end off them how do you then conect it to the brake shoe or lever.

Many thanks in advance

Davrus

You can come and have a look at mine if you want.

Doesnt mean its correct tho'

Does the diff load from the front or back ?

English ar Atlas

Mine is connected to the shoes with the original titty and chopped at the lever end. These are connected together in the horse shoe with cable clamps. Ill try and take you some piccies but dont think itl show as its hidden in my tunnel.

with the diff loading from the back, i think its actually a koln axle (similar to the atlas, but not quite the same)

They look like sierra back plates ?

I will put a pic up tonight with how ive done mine.

tul214 - 2/6/10 at 01:12 PM

They may well be Sierra rear brakes. Certainly bigger than the drums on the 'spare' axle I had.

My hand brake lever is Sierra. It pulls a single cable that in turn pulls 2 seperate cables, left and right.

Pics later if I get in the garage.

went mad in the garage after work and pulled
the shafts out , swapped the back plates round and ready to refit breaks n h/brake

pics in archive , dont know how to multi post
