new trackrods?

Following on from my previous post. I am now looking to replace both my track rods- NOT the track rod ends - for my MK Indy.

The sierra parts come in two sizes, 290mm or 270mm (but they do not say where that is measured from).

And as I did not build the car, is there an easy way of identifiying which steering rack I have exactly?

I am assuming it is a sierra rack, but neither of the images for the track rods in the QH catalogue look exactly like the ones on the car at the moment, hence my question.

Curious to know why you need to change them as unless they are bent?
If they are bent then the whole rack probably needs replacing.
As for the measurement, you should be able to just measure them.
Or have I missed something?

Buy the 290mm and chop them down if they're too long. There's plenty more than 20mm of thread of thread on them fit the MK rack extensions.
