Well basicly I was advised that I could cut the lug off the back of the diff however it seems I cut abit too deep

Does anybody know where I could get a replacement back plate and new gasket cheap

Also what spec of oil would you recommend putting back in there (& how much does it take)

Thanks in advance gents

So, you've cut through into the casting void...

Nobody with a tig that can weld a plate over it?

1 litre of transmission fluid should do it. It will say on the bottle what it is specified for. I got mine in Halfords.

The diff backplate is fitted without a gasket from new ,i use a smear of instant gasket when refiting. The oil capacity is 1.3 litres of gear oil 90 EP for the 7.5 . Sorry cant help with the backplate.

I can confirm it's more than the 750ml of oil I've been running my diff on for the last eight years
