Homebrew brake conversion

I needed something more confidence inspiring than standard escort solid disks on my jeep and they needed a full overhaul anyway, so for minimal cost I decided to sort it out.

I spent a few hours knocking up some brake adaptors so I could fit mondeo calipers and 2wd cosworth 283mm disks

I replaced the wheel bearings in a pair of hubs Id machined down slightly in the lathe and fitted them, then cleaned the mating surface with a dremel and applied copperslip

and the new disks followed by the calipers.

That's neat - I have just done something similar on my Fury - Rover 820 285mm discs on home-made hubs , with the original M16 calipers moved out on brackets and the brakes are sooooooooooooooooo much better

a couple of things

Why is one of your struts yellow and the other black?

Do you have the dame discs for front and rear?

Why did you only use only 2 studs at your wheel? Is it a new way of weight reduction?

Sorry for the silly questions. Just can't get the pictures.

Otherwise looking good.

I have no idea, same as one is gusseted and the other isnt! Ill be swapping them out for something better as soon as I have some funds.

No, rear is on 8 inch drums and Im running with no rear restrictors inline

because I only dropped it on for the pic, the studs are too short with the disk sandwiched in there and I need new ones.
