I'm gonna start making up some rosejointed front wishbones soon with slightly more caster and the ability to adjust caster by moving the wisbones
about.
I can't decide on whether to go widetrack front end at the same time. At the moment its escort width rear on low offest (ET -6) wheels and
standard width front with high offset (ET19) wheels. I can't tell you how it handles as I haven't actually driven it yet
Obviously its going to require new shocks (good time to go to rosejointed protechs), steering arm extensions and longer brake hoses. Is it likely to
be worth the extra effort and expense though?
My Tiger has a specially modified wide track front end (the same width as the rear track) which is rose jointed. I can't tell you what difference
it makes really since it is the only 7 I've driven. I heard however that the SSI was designed by Tiger for the Jap market and it had more to do
with higher speed stability. Doesn't stack up to me to be honest and in any case I could reel you off a list of members on here that can get
round Brands indy circuit waaay quicker than me on their skinny front ends!
Might be worth a U2U to DJTom becasuse I'm sure he's modifying his with a wider track. Unlike me he'll probably tell you the
benefit!
